Transit Valley Country Club
Given that they are a country club, there are membership requirements to play golf. A Recreational Membership allows very limited golf privileges, and a Golf Membership gives you full privileges on many golf-related activities and customs. Practice facility, golf simulators, and even a junior golf program.
There are different tiers to it as well: Resident (40 +), Intermediate Level 1A (Ages 37 to 39), Intermediate Level 1B (Ages 35 and 36), Intermediate Level 2 (Ages 30 to 34), and Intermediate Level 3 (Ages 18 to 29). “Scholar Member” is for any person who is a high school student and is a current member of their high school golf team.
They have several golf pros who run the shop and can assist you with anything, including giving you private golf lessons. The course layout, like Audubon, is also simple and not too difficult to understand.

Diamond Hawk Golf Course
Another public club experience that, as it is said on their website, is minutes from anywhere in Western New York. The course itself is well described on their website, featuring direction changes and doglegs (a sharp bend), tree-lined winding designs, and even SOD bunkers meaning it has an inverted layer of thick-cut sod wrapped along the edges and it helps with good contact. Like Audubon and Transit Valley the holes are simple in design and not too complicated.
Another cool aspect of the course that will make hardcore fans of golf happy is its 100% sand laid greens. Utilizing this sand allows the greens to drain better and offers better conditions for putting. They use a turf called Bentgrass, which is also used on courses such as Augusta National, home of the Masters tournament. It allows balls to roll easily, with less resistance, for smooth, fast play. One of the best course layouts in the Western New York area.
Diamond Hawk follows an interesting rate system and of course, is based on reservations:
Weekdays (Monday through Thursday) – The regular rate for 18 holes is $63, and 9 holes is $44. For people who are seniors, first responders, military, or Town of Cheektowaga residents showing ID, it is $59 and $39.
Weekends (Fri-Sun) & Holiday – $68 for 18 holes, $63 for 9 holes, and for the ID showing, it is $47 and $43.
Twilight Rates – After 3:00 pm Friday to Sunday, only offer 18 holes for $53 and $49 for showing ID.

Grover Cleveland Golf Course
The final course is the Grover Cleveland Golf Course. One of the most historically relevant courses to the Western New York area. It used to be the original Country Club of Buffalo when it first started, and it is the only public golf course in North America to be designed by two of the most famous Golf Architects of the early 20th century. The history around it is rich, and the course itself is well-liked for that reason.
The design of the course has changed a little over the years as there is now an added automated water system, and also, they restored a fescue rough type of grass that makes the course look like the ones of old times when golf first started. The same goes for the bunkers as well, with how they are fitted. A course that can appeal to all golfers, no matter their age.
They have pass fees for you if you want to play through the whole year up until December 31st. Regular with Tee Time is $340, the Youth is $275, and you must be 16 or younger, and the Senior Pass is $275, and you must be 62 or older.
Regular fees are listed here:
Weekdays – $18
Weekends/Holidays – $21
